St. Augustine School educates the whole child – academically, physically, and spiritually. Religion is an integral part of the school day and is incorporated into everything we do. Students attend mass weekly with their class and participate as readers, gift bearers, and altar servers.
Students receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year – during Advent and Lent. Our parish priests are frequent visitors to the school and occasionally teach religion classes. Our priests bless the throats of all students on the feast of St. Blaise and students attend Stations of the Cross during the season of Lent.
We have two sacramental preparation programs. Second graders prepare for and receive First Reconciliation and First Communion. This preparation is integrated into the curriculum. Seventh graders prepare for Confirmation by studying their faith and then going into the community to do twenty-five hours of service. Students are confirmed in the fall of eighth grade.
