Here are a few basic tips that can be helpful in the classroom, or for anyone using a Chromebook.

Wondering how to get a context menu for an item on your screen (like Right-Click in Microsoft Windows)?
The touchpads on our Chromebooks do not differentiate between left and right clicks. To see a context menu, place the cursor over the target item and remove your finger from the touchpad. Hold down the ALT key to the left of the space bar, and then tap and hold on the touchpad. The context menu should appear. You can now click on the desired menu item to select it. (Tap anywhere else on the screen to cancel the selection.)
Is the text too small to read or too large to fit on the screen? This can be fixed by changing the screen resolution:
Hold down the CTRL key and then tap:
"+" (plus) key to zoom in (making everything look bigger) - or -
"-" (minus) key to zoom out (make everthing look smaller and fit more on the screen)
Continue to tap the + and - keys until you are happy with the result, then release all keys.
Search (Magnifying Glass) + CTRL + h key combination will toggle High Contrast Mode On/Off.
If the image on the screen is rotated (turned sideways or upside down), you can easily fix this by rotating the screen to the correct orientation:
Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys at the same time, then tap the Refresh key (circular arrow in the top row of the keyboard (above the "4" key)). Continue to tap the Refresh key until the screen has the correct orientation.
If your Chromebook is telling you the names of items as you move your cursor over them, and/or reading screen text to you, then Spoken Feedback has been turned on.
To turn off Spoken Feedback hold down the CTRL + ALT keys and then tap the Z key.
